		<description>No help, but - how do you manage to keep books (OK, novels) open whilst you knit? I can only make huge reference books, french dictionnaries, etc, stay open whilst I knit.

		<description>I hear you! I wrote a pattern for baby things and ended up with 6 odd baby socks (3 sizes, two different yarns, several colourways)and 3 hats.  Not to mention the egg cosy which was ripped because no babies have heads the size of eggs.

I knitted with sock yarn when I was in goa last year.  I taking a proper Asia trip at the end of this year and plan to take sock yarn again (portability and yardage) and maybe some bamboo.</description>
