I didn't use any pears(not my favorite fruit), but thought that the cake could use some kind of topping, so I blended some leftover avocado with almonds, lots of lemon rind, juice and sugar. Delicious! My friends were very sceptical because of the avocado frosting, they called it "guacamole-cake". ;) Thanks for a great recipe! I made this and loved it! The only thing I did different was to toast the almonds before I ground them, and I only used 3 oz of sugar but my chocolate was only 65% so I figured it could do with a bit less sugar.
