tattie scones with hummous are my favorite lunch these days. but don't eat them as a snack, or a starter - you won't be able to eat anything else that day, or possibly the next

thanks for the video tutorial--it was so very helpful! up till now I had ignored tubular cast-on; I don't know why! I think I imagined it to be big and puffy.

I found your voice very soothing and "comfortable", perfect for reading stories out loud. so I would say you sound like you're from storybookland. =)

i love the Fairy Gothmother shop, didn't realise you could order through their website but the shop is in Spitalfields near the market (which you would probably really like, I buy a lot of my clothes from there and they are one of the best places for quirky, unusual and inventive clothing in London, not to mention only 20minutes away from my house on the tube) and is SUCH fun to look through. They have a million beautiful corsets made from amazing fabrics, very costume-like and quite pricey. Should you ever need resort to clothesshopping all the way down here, I'd reccomend Spitalfields, Brick Lane and around Islington/Angel.

As for the accent, I guess that it seemed to be very light? I know lots of people from Glasgow and Aberdeen and you didn't sound like them ;) God knows what I sound like, twould be interesting to hear the reactions.

Huh! I'm American, but I've got a fascination with accents and I never would have guessed you're from Scotland. I listened to the video (which is really good by the way) and first would have said English, but at the end I decided my guess would be Irish. It's kind of amusing because I thought you sounded rather like me.
Sorry I can't recommend a dress shop, but I wish you good luck!

how about starry starry night or gloryhole in the west end (up ruthven lane, which is next to the oxfam on byres road) or mr ben in the city centre (kings court, next to the car park behind the st enoch centre)? they're quite good for one-off vintage dresses, so you might find something there. happy shopping!

I know what you mean about the identical shiny dresses available in almost every shop on every high street. I resorted to ordering this one: http://www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?segname=Women&styid=WH090&segid=6&gpname=Dresses&desname=Spotty+Velvet+Dress&gpid=6&gen=1#jf3 (I hope this link works)... I haven't got it yet, so I still don't know how well it'll fit me. Good luck finding something you actually like! Charlie

I just tried the potato scones for lunch - they are really good! I think I'll have to have a hangover in order to eat more than a quarter of the portion at once, though ;)

Isn't that funny- guess people thought you were going to sound like Mel Gibson in Braveheart?! I read the comments before I saw the video, and then I felt like I was really listening for your accent! ;-) But you sounded great- clear, and friendly!
