I've got to say this though ~ I'm taking my diploma in PMC this weekend so I'd prolly be drummed out of the jewellery workshop if I didn't! The 'white stuff' is actually the pure silver. What you are doing when you sandpaper or brush it is rub the particles flat so that the light reflects off the metal and causes that lovely silver gleen. There, I feel much better for that . . . You never know, it might even be a question on the exam paper!! *wink* Those earrings are adorable!
