I honestly have no idea why I didn’t fix this ages ago, somehow I’d convinced myself that I’d already done it. Oops! If you’ve made Elijah and got confused when picking up the ear stitches, I’m so sorry it was totally my fault. The arrows were all kinds of back to front and directed you to knit anti-clockwise, not so fun!
I’ve sent out an updated file to everyone who has purchased it. The diagram for the ear should be this.

Thanks! I’m glad I wasn’t just reading it wrong somehow.
Thank you for correcting this, I almost thought I had been hallucinating. But then I totally knew that I couldn’t knit anti-clockwise without serious discomfort. Thankfully I managed to finish my Elijah nonetheless.
I’m still a bit confused by the instructions for the ears. After the initial explanation and the diagram with arrows, it says “for the right ear pick up stitches in the same way, beginning towards the back of the head.” Did you mean to say the left ear? To me, the pictured diagram looks like you are preparing to knit the right ear first.
Also, for the opposite ear, when you say to “pick up stitches in the same way” do you mean that the stitches on needle #1 will be picked up from top to bottom but will be located behind needles #2 & 3?
Thanks for clarifying
I have the same questions as Patti.
