Finally!

by ysolda on August 1, 2008

At long last I can reveal to you why I went to Canada a few months ago. I decided, rather spontaneously, to take these 2 sweaters to Kate Gilbert for their photo shoot for the first issue of Twist Collective. The issue is now live, and my patterns are available to purchase.

I hope you like the designs and the entire project. It’s an amazing project to be involved in, there are so many beatiful designs by some very talented designers and the team behind it have worked very hard to make a great first issue that truly values the work of all involved.

It all looks fab – so well photographed and put together. I was excited yesterday when I realised today was the day… I’m not disappointed, and it’s great to have such great names in one place. Now I just have to decide which thing to knit first….

Ever since the sneaky preview pics I’ve had my beady eye on the Little Birds sweater…..and today I found out it was one of yours! It’s absolutely gorgeous. No wonder you went all the way to Canada with it – I wouldn’t let it out of my sight if I had it too. ;o)

Great designs!!! I found out about Twist Collective earlier this morning and already have several patterns on my “to knit” list, including your Twist Key Hole.

And the whole project is wonderful to look at – great photography, modeling, and styling!!!

I think Little Birds is by far and away the standout design in this issue. It is just really something special. In fact, I was late for work this morning because I had to buy it and look through it before I left. I’ve never done stranding colorwork before and some of the pattern actually scares me, but I’m looking forward to the challenge! Well done!

These are so beautiful! The details really shine, and the birds are fabulous. Congratulations on a job well done.

I’ve been looking forward to the Twist Collective release for weeks, and your designs are absolute stunners! Little Birds has been bought and has gone straight into my Ravelry queue. I haven’t done colourwork before, but I’ll muddle through – and I’m looking forward to it! Now to choose my colours…

Waouh, you’re so talented! I love them! I just watched Twist Collective: what a great magazine!!!

Reply

Vilde August 1, 2008 at 4:20 pm

Wonderful!! I went through the whole Twist Collective magazine and one of the patterns I bought was Little Birds. I love, love, love the detailing of it. So many clever and unique features. I have a friend who will be receiving the sweater (eventually…) and it suits her PERFECTLY! I’ve been on the lookout for a design for her and when I saw Little Birds I actually gasped and then said her name out loud. So, thanks, Ysolda!

Oh wow. The first cardy is fabulous! I’ve been at a bit of a loss as to what to knit recently, wondering why there wasn’t something in the way of a cardigan that was cute/ quirky, while still being tailored enough for me to wear with a suit at work. And the kind of cardigan where I can just do up the bottom few buttons and leave the top ones undone because that’s how I like wearing my cardies. Uh… you’ve done it! Congratulations on the whole thing.

Your Little Birds design reminds me of a cardigan your Grandad knitted for your cousin Mhairi when she was about one year old. I’ve still got it, even though she’s nearly nineteen! I’ll take a photo of it for you – you probably won’t remember it – it’s got cats, strawberries trains and houses on it, with the initial letters of each, all in rows.
Can’t wait to start your keyhole sweater. Hope it will look ok on your old Auntie!
