Home!

by ysolda on September 13, 2008

I’m leaving again at 4.30am on Monday morning (for a trip I’m really excited about) but right now I’m ignoring that and enjoying being at home. This morning we went to the farmer’s market and spent all afternoon and evening pottering around the kitchen cooking dinner for me, Laura and my friend Joanna.

dinner

We Laura made fresh pasta

dinner-2

filled with colourful chard and goats cheese from a goat named Violet.

dinner-6

Served with tomato sauce from local tomatoes and purple basil.

dinner-5

We drank champagne with raspberry purree

dinner-3

Thank you for the champagne – you know who you are!

dinner-4

and for desert we had strawberries, vegan vanilla ice cream and smushed up truffles fresh from Paris.

dinner-7

Now I’m going to sleep in my own bed. It’s good to be home, even for a little while.

- apologies for the awful photos, but what with the combination of bad lighting and an acting up camera it’s a miracle that they’re this good.

Ok, reading these posts, lately, have been envy inducing enough, but this one takes the cake. I officially want to live with you. YUM!

You guys made the right decision buying flights home. I think the Chunnel only opened for passengers last night! BTW- your dinner looks amazing, bad photos or not.

Yeah, yeah blame it on the camera. I think it was a few too many of the raspberry champers myself…………

Wow, that meal looks absolutely amazing. Like what I would choose for a last supper.

I have loved living vicariously through you recently. I spent 6 months in Ireland & Wakes about 10 years ago, but haven’t made it back to Europe since. Keep posting lovely pics, please and thanks. = )

That was such an excellent feast! I told everyone I talked to about it, including some poor harassed woman in the supermarket, for the next three days at least :) Thank you both again!
It is both a delight and a difficulty being friends with you – that was so good WHAT ON EARTH am I going to make for you????!!!
I’m getting my thinking cap on.
Have fun on your travels :) xxx
