Be prepared for Ishbel

The pattern isn’t quite done, but it will be up very soon. In the meantime maybe you need to get some yarn? This pattern features two absolutely beautiful yarns by two of my favourite indie dyers, and if neither of these takes your fancy both of them have lots of other yarns that would be suitable. You need anything from lace to fingering (4ply) weight and the pattern is in two sizes requiring around 330 yds / 300m [610 yds / 555m].

This is the larger laceweight version in Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace in Kisses.

I need to take photos in daylight but this is the smaller version in Old Maiden Aunt alpaca / merino 4ply in Moody. (psst. might want to get that now – there’s a sale on!)

Thank you to Jen and Lilith for making such fantastic yarns for me to work with.

ooh, I love it, such a great combo of “regular” knitting and lace patterns.

Wow. The smaller one is gorgeous. Although I may just be in love with the blue in that photo. :)

Another beautiful pattern =) Love the ‘washing lines’ in your studio, too. Thanks for sharing.

beautiful patterns! lovely yarns-but, after clicking on the links i see, according to the photos of the fibers, that i won’t be able to use either. it isn’t fiber content but texture which horribly irritates my skin. the little fiber-fuzzies leave ‘hickies’ behind–wether it be acrylic baby yarn or softest alpaca. am i doomed to lion brand wool-ease ?

The blue one is beautiful! (I lightened it up on my computer to see it better.)

Is it Sara Douglass’ “Ishbel”? I just started reading that series Ü

I’m so excited for this pattern! I’ve got a couple skeins of dream in color baby in my stash that I’ve been dying to use, and ishbel is just perfect :)

Wow, what a beautiful pattern. I live in those big triangular scarfs in winter. And spring. And autumn. And actually summer. Maybe I need a 4th?

The low key photo of the blue one is amazing, too. Great lighting!

Beautiful! And, OT but must be said, in photo #2 you look like the female lead from a Hitchcock movie!
