Laura’s visiting at the moment and we’ve been having fun knitting together again. We even get to spend tomorrow hanging out because of a crazy airline screw up, stressful but kind of nice in the end.
Like anyone that makes the mistake of spending any time around me with a camera in hand Laura got roped into taking some pictures of my new design – the one I teased you with a close up of last week. It’s a beret version of Ishbel and it will be available very soon (including as part of Whimsy).
Today we went to the botanics and then walked up through Stockbridge and all the way home, via some clothes shopping and cake.
I photographed a project of Laura’s too, but you’ll have to wait for her to post those.

Ooh, so glad to see this will be available as a pattern! Saw this on your ravelry project page yesterday and adore it. Can’t say enough about how much I love working with your patterns. : )

I just bought Whimsy the other day, and I’m so glad, even though it works out to be a few Australian dollars Ü It’s worth it!
So pretty, love the beret! And I could almost get a whiff of the hothouse smell. I now must go to my botanical garden here in Buffalo.
I tried to work a beret based on Ishbel on my own way before I saw this post (I failed). I’ve already knit up two lovely Ishbel’s and I can’t wait until you publish this pattern. I hope it is up before the weekend, I’m dying to have it to work on Saturday.
Ooooh so lovely, I’m so glad I finally caved in and bought WLKs on Sunday!
Hi Ysolda
So will the beret only be available as part of the wlk collection? It looks like a great hat for autumn here in Sydney. What yarn did you use, the drape is lovely?
Add as many an you wish…they will be put to use. Actually, I could use a baby beret to go with the booties.
photography and knitting together are pretty addictive especially when mixed with good friends :)
