It’s possible that this shawlette thing is getting obsessive, but here’s another one.
This is in the yarn that I dyed a few months ago when I visited the wonderful Lilith at her studio (you too can visit). Lilith scribbled a few notes while I was randomly sploshing dye around and while I knew she was a colour genius I was still impressed when she managed to perfectly re-create what I’d done. So now, if you want, you can make your own little shawlette in Ysolda yarn. Once again I forgot to take pictures before I sent the sample off to the magazine, but I think it also works well as part of a more casual outfit, scrunched around your neck. I guess I just need to make my own so that I can show you.

Keep those shawlettes coming, Ms. Ysolda. I predict that soon you’ll have enough for another book. Besides they are great gift knits and can be dressed up or down depending on the fiber. Clara Parkes just reviewed a skein of cashmere and mink.
That looks great! The yarn is such a lovely shade too. :)
That is so pretty! I love the way they styled and photographed it, too.
Just lovely! It was a treat to meet you last night at Nina. Best of luck with the rest of your travels in the US!
Beautiful…it looks like a great issue!
Squee! Now I know what to make with some yarn I just ordered! :)
I’m crazy about this color!
wow it’s lovely! i love the color of the yarn.
That shawlette is so pretty!
Will it be available to purchase directly from you? Or will we have to buy the whole issue of Yarn Forward to get it?
You really do have something going with these shawlettes….keep ‘em coming!!
So feminine and dainty! Beautiful!
What a beautiful photograph. Reminds me of The House of Elliot (tv series years ago).
Those shawlettes are great – I’m not really into shawls but I can really imagine wearing them scrunched up. Keep them coming!
Ooh, that is lovely. The yarn is too! I’m definitely going to get my hands on a skein of that … now the question is, can I afford two?
How can you travel, meet so many people and working like this?? I’m very impressed! Bravo! You are an inspiration.
Love this one! The perfect quick summer knits. A girl can never have too many shawlettes…
Loving your blog and travels. Have enjoyed all the pics of yarn stores and the tales of people you have met. Can’t wait for the next installement
In addition I have to say I like your shawlette obsession – they are just the right size to knit and make great gifts. Look froward to the next design…or book…..
Exquisite shawlette. Your designs are beautiful, thank you. I would love to purchase this design please.
Oh! But they’re so delicious!
I think shawlettes have a great future! I love triangular shawls, but they don’t sit comfortably on me, but Ishbel is a revelation, and now I am addicted. They are just the right combination of shawl and scarf. Easier to wear and than a shawl, imho, and much more interesting to knit than a scarf. I will be casting on for this one too. All power to your shawlette desinging elbow!
I have the wool (purchased from Lilith while in Scotland)…now I just need the pattern. I have not seen this mag sold anywhere. I have been enjoying your travel blog, although I winced when I realized that I would be in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area just a few days after you were there!
I love the shawlette. My subscription to yarn forward just ran out so I need to go find a copy.
The whole outfit is fabulous, its Flinstones-Chic!
Please oh please tell me where I can get this pattern. I have never seen Yarn Forward here in Upstate NY where I live and would love to knit this for my sister’s wedding in September.
I am in agreement with the others – I would love to get a copy of this pattern I work in Boston (US) and have never heard of Yarn Forward – hope you plan to make the pattern available in other places – I met you at the Classic Elite Yarn Store in May – am glad that you have enjoyed your adventures in the US! Am currently working on my 5th Ishbel.
