Collaborating

by ysolda on September 30, 2009

When I asked Natalie (of The Yarn Yard) if she’d like to supply yarn for one of the patterns in Whimsical Little Knits 2 she was happy to help, and offered to dye any colours I liked. Well I couldn’t resist and offer like that so I went on a search for samples of just the right colours. I tried paint chips, but they weren’t clear enough, so I ended up rummaging around my studio gathering up scraps of yarn and fabric until I found just what I was looking for in my box of threads. I sent them off to Natalie and this morning Sarah, who lives near her, dropped off a whole pile of yarn. 2 skeins perfectly matching the cotton reels I sent and some other colours to play with.

Although she only received this base yarn, Clan, recently, Natalie sent me a sample a little while ago so that I could play with it and swatch. I really love how crisp it is and it bloomed nicely when washed without losing any of that wonderful definition.

Want to try some for yourself, Natalie’s running a rather interesting new yarn club and signups close at midnight tonight (GMT), better hurry! I’m off to knit my mittens.
