British Book Tour

by ysolda on November 6, 2009

November 6th 365-186

The books are here! We’ve started signing and packing them up and they’ll be on their way to new homes at the beginning of next week. Only the initial batch of pre-orders will be signed – which basically means everything ordered before Sunday. If you’ve been thinking of ordering (or want to upgrade your digital order to by purchasing the print add on) and you would like a signed copy you can do that here – http://ysolda.com/store/collections/whimsical-little-knits-2 It would be fun to sign every single book ever, but it gets complicated and takes too much time away from actually producing new patterns!

Next week we’ll be taking the books on a little British tour, which should be a lot of fun. Details of each event are below and it would be wonderful to see you at one. There will be lots of samples (not just from this book!) to play with and try on and I’ll be signing copies of both Whimsical Little Knits books. All of these events are free, but if you could let our hosts know in advance if you’re planning on coming so that they have an idea of numbers that would be very much appreciated, and in some cases will determine how much cake there is!

Great, WLK2 in my mail in a few days!

Not coming to France yet? It would be so great to see you at last! Or, I can come to Edinburgh when I find enough money to pay for the plane ticket…

Yay! Can’t wait for my copy! :)

I hope you have a fabulous time on your book tour. When are you coming back to the States?

Hopefully you’ll find your way up as far north as the Highlands :-) Inverness would be okay, but hopefully you’ll make it up as far as Ullapool or Lochinver.

Love your sweater in the pic- so cute! Get Knitted is my go-to online yarn store, but I’m a bit far North (in Cumbria) to make it to any of your signings sadly- maybe I’ll catch you in Scotland. Love the blog, hope the weather isn’t too horrible to you while you’re over here!

Oh, what a pity – I’m travelling to London 1 week too late! Well, have a great trip! :)

‘…you may notice Scotland is absent…..’ you say.
Yes……as is most of England!!!! You are only covering the south of England, and a tiny part of Wales. What a shame, since the further North (of England) you go, and up into the Highlands of Scotland, the more people knit (because we need to LOL)
You will find all the ral traditional knitting up north too.
Oh well :-(

As you’re in Leeds on the 19th (I might be able to make it to Baa Ram Ewe that night – would be good as I’ve not visited that new shop yet) are you staying over somewhere and going to the Knitting and Stitching show at the Harrogate International Centre thats happening on 20/21/22 Nov?

Oh, I take back my earlier comment, Ididnt notice you were coming to St Abbs, which is in Northumberland, which is where we are!!! We also have a cottage on Lindifarne (Holy)Island and that is really near St Abbs. Those little fishing villages are treat!
but although you say you arent going to Scotland, you know, Berwick is practically in Scotland. Also, hundreds of years ago,the border was further south, as the dividing line was Hadrian’s wall – which runs under our house, so we are in no-,man’s land!

Maybe one day you would like to come to Dublin? There is a lovely little knitting shop in city centre called This is Knit ( they are on Ravelry also)
