This morning Sarah, Hannah and took a lovely drive down the coast in the sunshine to a little wool festival in the beautiful fishing village of St. Abbs.

The event was hosted by Woolfish, who also have a lovely shop in the village.

There was plenty of gorgeous yarn to squish, sniff(!) and of course, purchase. The new book had it’s first adventure in the wild at Natalie’s stall and she also had the yarn for the mitten pattern that is coming soon.

It was also lovely to chat to several people that I haven’t seen for a while. Hannah even found the raw fleece she was after for a sculpture project hanging from the roof of the shop – I think they were as delighted to be rid of it as she was to acquire it, raw fleece does smell a bit!

It was such a lovely, sunny, friendly and very woolly way to spend the day.

What a lovely village. It looks like a postcard. Your owl sweater looks great.

Wow, that looks like a great event, must try and go next time, doesn’t appear to be totally impossible on public transport!

I saw someone else with that hat on at the farmers market yesterday, it was a good morning for handknit spotting!

Wow, how do you hear about all these lovely wool festivals? Any more coming up around Scotland soon…?

(By the way, Katherine, it was me in the hat at the Farmer’s Market! :)

Could you share with us the name of the hat you’re wearing in the last pic? Is it one of yours? It’s lovely…
