It’s cold outside

snow barges

I’ve been out to play in the snow a little and got thoroughly bruised in the process,

YIP 7 - Jan 7th - sledging made me so happy + bruised
but a lot of fun all the same.

weee!

Mostly though I’ve been staying warm in my nest,

YIP 8 - 8th Jan - xmas present to myself
playing with new toys
yarn circles

and slowly trying to make things both more pleasing to look at
cotton reels
and easier to use.

YIP 3 - Jan 3rd - little boxes
YIP 9 - 9th Jan - wardrobe

When the sun does make an appearance, my desk is the perfect place from which to enjoy it,

YIP 5 - Jan 5th - my desk

although the view more frequently looks like this, luckily I have plenty of knitting to be getting on with!

Lovely! I just posted photos of my studio unpacking and organizing progress and its so fun to picture everyone organizing and making nicer work and craft spaces for the new year. It’s cold and snowy where I am too, it’s good motivation for knitting!

I love those cubbies for yarn storage! I’m about to do a whole revamp of my stash, and that’s such a creative use of wall space. Pretty, too!

It’s been in the high 70s (F) in Los Angeles for the past week, so I can’t really sympathize with the cold weather! It seems like it would be a lot easier to get knitting done with weather like that!

Ooo you have a kitchen aid mixer? I’m jealous. Ha ha. Your pics look so cozy and lively. I can’t imagine living somewhere where it snows like that. It rarely snows here and when it does it practically never settles. Of course, it’s summer here at the moment and we’re surviving 40 degree heat.

What a beautiful view, I love sitting by a window with the sun shining in. Enjoy your KitchenAid – I don’t know how I ever managed before I got mine. I make bread almost every day now (it doesn’t help that I’m gluten free so I HAVE to make my own bread, as I refuse to pay $5 a loaf)

I love the baskets on the wall, what a great idea to showcase and store your pretties at the same time. And how great is that drawer full of fun things? Makes me want to go paw through it.

This entire entry was beautiful to look at. Where in the world did you find those cozy cylinders to hang on the wall for your yarns? I really like the idea. The view from your window is lovely… and sooo not American. I love it!

You live right across the street from my ex-boyfriend! In fact, I think once when I was over at his place, my computer picked up a wireless network called Ysolda Teague :)

Oh wow – did you just get the KitchenAid? I just got one for my birthday. I have many plans for it but firstly, I want to see what it can do with egg whites!

Wait, wait, wait. What’s that hat? I’m looking through the patterns I have from you and I can’t figure it out. Must have it now!

I love the picture in the snow where the orange hat is the biggest bit of color. Great pic!

I am totally inspired by your craft area organization! I will soon be finishing off my basement and am super excited for creating my very own knitting studio. It will be so nice to have a totally dedicated space just for knitting- what fun!

Funny seeing the Square from a slightly different angle! Lovely to see de-cluttering and tidying going on – somethine I aspire to but rarely manage – shall look forward to other de-clutter projects appearing.

How lovely to see pics of snowy Edinburgh! It’s my adopted home town (although now I live on the other side of the world).

You’re doing a much better job de-cluttering than me, I have to say! That yarn of mine just doesn’t like hiding in closets or boxes and keeps wanting to come out and say hello.

You also have good taste in furniture, I have that same bed from Ikea.
