I am overawed. I came back to see how you had done and am flabbergasted. In my lady like fashion, I told partner, "holy sh*t!" I am now truly curious as to the amount raised through Ravelry pattern purchases.

I purchased several of your patterns and am amazed at your talent. Knit on my lovely. I am also doing the Mountain View cardigan (another pattern purchased in support of MSF), though I rather suspect you will finish before me.

Lovely work! What a gorgeous sweater, I am going to have to finally pull out my knitting needles again someday but I read too many blogs by too many talented people and there are about a dozen crafting techniques I want to improve on. Still, as a canuck I feel knitting would be rather useful =P
thanks for sharing as always

i purchased a couple of patterns from you, and a few from other designers. they were for projects already in my queue, and were patterns already sitting in my cart on ravelry. the fact that the designers pledged a percentage of their proceeds spurred me to purchase them now instead of later, when i would be ready to knit the design.
buying patterns i already love was an easy way for me to support the generosity of knitting designers whose work i have admired. now i admire these designers for their philanthropy as well.
how many of us who work for an hourly wage would be willing to donate half (or more) of our earnings to such a worthwhile cause? i could not afford to do so.
thank you ysolda. for being such a good person. and such a wonderful designer that knitters want to knit what you create.

I wonder what those being so critical have done to help a charity lately... hmmm... seems some people prefer to criticise than give credit to a wonderful lady who has managed to raise a significant sum of money to help others.

This is not about every other charity, there are many worthy charities and causes and we would spread ourselves thin trying to help each and every one.
Ysolda did a good thing when she could, she is not responsible to every other charity because she helped out with this one. Why don't you go criticise the red cross for not caring about animals; or a children's cancer charity for not caring about trafficked children? It would make the same amount of sense.

And the accusation that she did it for the extra sales is really beyond the pale, clearly she was just doing her bit to help and was quite overwhelmed with the response. I can't imagine what sort of person would think she was being in any way selfish or self-concerned with her fund raising efforts.

You rock Ysolda, your patterns are lovely and you have a kind and generous heart. :-)
