If you’re in Edinburgh and looking for something to do this weekend this is where I’ll be going on Saturday, the monthly Morningside Maker’s Market. I went for the first time last month and found lots of lovely sellers to chat to and, of course, buy from.

the sheep…are those notecards?? how cool? i wish that we had things like that around here. but young people here don’t craft and the older people that do make out of date crafts. it is really kind of sad.
Gorgeous. How I would love to go. I do miss Edinburgh :(
Lovely stuff. Love the pincushions!
This market looks fabulous! I love the cloud necklace :)
Agree with britt, I’m not aware of any crafty stuff round my way, at least none that’s as cool as this… :(
Oh how I wish I lived there! It all looks so lovely and inspiring. I’m a bit jealous!
I’m hoping I manage a trip to Edinburgh in the summer, it’s so wonderful to know there are all these amazing crafty things to explore… :)
Lots of neat stuff. I followed the link, I only wish they had web addresses listed online for the makers. I’d love to be able to shop some of the vendors you photographed from this side of the pond (USA). Have fun this weekend!
I’m putting that market on my list of places to visit when I finally visit Edinburgh. The case with the needles and yarn embroidered on them were particularly cool!
What fun, creative things! I hope I can make it there someday…
wow. great stuff. the appliqued knitting pouch is very creative. and the embroidery transfers are beautifully drawn.
OMG so much ridiculously cute and adorable stuff…..!
I want to come over to Edinburgh and buy all my presents there – I love the cloud pendant!
First Saturday of each month, would that be? I need to plan ahead (if I can manage a trip to Britain at all, dang it).
The next time you go to the Markets you HAVE to tell the woman with the embroidery transfers and plates with the embroidered deer that her fan base is growing exponentially. In fact her whole stall is fabulous.
If there is a way to purchase her transfer booklets from way down here in Australia I’d be a very happy girl.
hello ysolda,
thankyou so much for putting some pictures of my work on your site, I logged on as i am just starting the ‘Ishbel’ scarf. For the lovely Rachel in australia, the transfers and all goods will be on line for sale soon, i am poking my computer literate husband with a knitting needle until he makes it so.
glad you like my stuff, angharad jefferson x
Hi – my 12 yr old daughter & I have been browsing your website & we were looking for a pattern for your gorgeous bunting…do you have one??
We are decorating her bedroom and it would be a fab thing to knit together to put up in her room!
I am CRAZY about the knitting pouch!!!!! I am in Glasgow – do you know the maker for this, please? I LOVE supporting our indie artisans and would adore one myself!!!!
what fun beautiful treasures!!
wow. Is there a site for the maker of the cloud necklace? That is so cool and cute! I love it! As cute as Ysolda’s stuff!
I, too, LOVE the knitting pouch!!! Do you remember the name of the maker? Wonder if they’ll ship to the US. Thanks
Your farmer’s market is clearly better than the one near us. Beautiful!
Hi! I just started reading your blog, linked from somewhere I don’t remember now. I really enjoyed your last post sharing some info about your design process. I just was notified by my LYS, the incomparable Webs (www.yarn.com) that they were now carrying your patterns. How cool!
Keep up the amazing work!
There must be something in the water in Edinburgh! So many really talented artists, especially you!
Oh I wish I could go! It looks so great.
Hey, do you have any idea if there is ever anything similar to this going on in the Glasgow area? I would love to go and support it if there is.
I just love that plate!!! Do you have any contact info on how to get in touch with this very clever designer? It’s pretty far to go from London to Edinburg, so I would really appreciate your help.
Anyway, the knitting is why I’m visiting your blog, knitting has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl, and now I’m trying to set up my own business and make a living out of this passion. It is wonderful to follow your work and see how you have managed to your ideas into great success! A real inspiration!
Hi Ysolda!
Thank you so much for featuring our stuff (especially the sheep cards!) on your blog, we had a sale through my folksy shop as a direct result!
Your blog is fab and we’ll be following from now on!
We won’t be at Morningside for the next couple of months but we’ll be at the West End Craft Fair in Hillhead Library on Byres Road Glasgow on 10th April and the Made in The Shade Springtime Jamboree in The Lighthouse, Mitchell Lane on 17th April! Shameful plugs I know but someone had asked about craft fairs in Glasgow!
Also, the plate and the knitting pouch are both by the fabio Angharad Jefferson who’s commented up above you, her stuff is for sale in a shop called ‘The Maisonette” on Cresswell Lane just off Byres Rd in Glasgow! Her website is http://www.angharadjefferson.com ch-ch-ch-check her out!
Loving the hedgehog pincushion! Thank you for sharing these!
Wooww that’s a interesting creativity. I really like hand made things completely impressed
