Printing has begun

by ysolda on May 16, 2011

The printer has started sending me photos of the printing underway and I thought you might like to see them. I always loved the segments on kid’s tv shows where they visited factories to see toothpaste or something being made!

And here are some of the first sheets to come off the presses, they check samples every so often to make sure everything is correct :)

Very cool! I also love seeing how things are made. There is a TV show here in canada called “How it’s Made” very fun to watch. You must be so excited for the book to be so close to finished! I know I am. Planning the Chickadee cardigan.

Sweet!

I have a question – I moved a few weeks ago, how do I go about changing my address?

I love the printing presses! In my past advertising agency life, I had to go on press checks as part of my job and loved watching the different layers of ink appear….

Congrats again! Can’t wait to meet my book in person…

I thought I was the only person on earth who loved press checks! This made me decide to pre-order the book, yay!

OMG. I love the process of printing. I worked in the advertising/printing business for many years and the process of getting the image just right, checking proofs, editing – I loved it all. Those proof sheets are gorgeous. You should frame a few.

Aww! I worked in printing for 20 years (all sorts of jobs, but mostly customer service and project management) and these pictures have me missing my old job. I love the magic of the process!

One of my favorite smells is the smell of a brand new book when first cracked open. :)

There’s nothing like the smell of fresh ink!

I’ve worked in publishing for nearly 20 years, and yet I’ve never had a chance to go on a press run. How delightful to see the pictures from your very own book being made! Very exciting stuff!!
