A slouchy beret worked in a two colour star stitch pattern with a simple ribbed band. The crown shaping continues the star theme with paired decreases worked in along five stocking stitch ribs that come together in a central starburst. Shown in a beautifully soft baby llama yarn that creates a lovely drape and softly blended colours. It could also be worked in a single colour to emphasise the lacey, textured stitch pattern. Both written and charted directions are provided so that you can work from the form you prefer or a combination of both.

Materials

82yds / 75m each worsted weight yarn in 2 colours.

Shown in Mirasol Miski in shade 106 for the main colour and shade 104 for the contrast.

Size 5 US / 3.75mm 16″ / 40cm circular; size 7 US / 4.5mm 16″ / 40cm circular; size 7 US / 4.5mm dpns.

Gauge

16 sts and 24 rounds = 4″ / 10cm in st st using US7 /4.5mm needles.
