Round yoked cardigan worked seamlessly from the bottom up Coraline features a beautiful smocking pattern on the yoke and neat details, such as I-cord edges, to give a perfect finish. Worked in a light, drapey yarn Coraline will flatter many figures and makes a great layering garment that will take you through several seasons.

    This pattern is delivered in three versions each covering a range of sizes as listed below:

    Small size set: 28[30, 32, 34, 36, 38]” / 72[76, 81, 86, 91, 96]cm bust

    Medium size set: 40[42, 44, 46, 48, 50]” / 102[107, 112, 117, 123, 127]cm bust

    Large size set: 52[54, 56, 58, 60]” / 132[137, 142, 147, 152]cm bust

    Shown in size 34″ / 76cm with no ease.

    Materials:

    DK / light worsted weight yarn that drapes well. I used UK Alpaca baby alpaca / tussah silk. Good substitutes would be pure alpaca yarns, alpaca and wool blends, other alpaca silk blends or wool and silk blends.

    Small size set: 855[915, 990, 1050, 1125, 1190] metres / 935[1000, 1080, 1150, 1230, 1300] yards.
    Medium size set: 1250[1345, 1390, 1490, 1590, 1655] metres / 1365[1470, 1520, 1630, 1740, 1810] yards.
    Large size set: 1800[1870, 1960, 2030, 2120, 2195] metres / 1970[2045, 2145, 2220, 2320, 2400] yards.

    3.5mm (or size needed to obtain correct gauge) 60cm/24” or longer circular needle.

    3.5mm set of 4 or 5 double pointed needles or needles required for your preferred method of working small circumferences in the round.

    Crochet hook in a similar size to needles – this will be used for the provisional cast on, so will not be needed if you use a different provisional cast on method.

    Scrap yarn for provisional cast on and holding stitches, use a smooth yarn such as cotton that will be easy to remove.

    Safety pins, split ring markers or other movable stitch markers.

    Tapestry needle.

    Embroidery floss / stranded cotton in a matching colour to yarn.

    5 buttons, because the button loops are sewn on at the end to match the buttons you can use the buttons you love without worrying about the size.

    Gauge:

    24 sts and 28 rows = 10 cm / 4″ in stocking stitch using 3.5mm needles.

    The yarn used for the sample grows considerably when washed, for accurate results make sure that you wash and block your swatch, stretching it lengthwise while wet. The gauge given is after washing and blocking.
