Snow White

£4.00

Flattering ribbed sweater knit in the round without seams. Darts are carefully shaped to maintain the flow of the rib pattern and create a perfect fit. The unusual neckline frames your face at the front and curves round to form an interesting detail at the back. Tubular cast ons create perfect edges, while the neck edge can be neatly finished with a tubular bind off, or for a slightly different effect the picot bind off pictured. A simple variation on the basic rib pattern creates flared cuffs for the long sleeves. Snow White was designed to flatter a wide range of shapes and sizes and so the pattern is given in seven sizes, ranging from a 28 - 54 bust. For a perfect individual fit the stitches can be slipped onto scrap yarn at key points and the sweater in progress can be tried on.

Materials

740 [830, 940, 1060, 1190, 1350] yards / 680 [760, 860, 970, 1090, 1230] metres of worsted / aran weight yarn. I used Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk Aran in Clipper. Substituted yarns should be reasonably elastic, wool or wool blends are probably most ideal.

4.5 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge) circular needle, 24 / 60cm for sizes xs, s and m; 32 / 80cm for size large and larger, a 40/100cm needle could also be used for size 3x if that is what you have available.

4.5mm double pointed needles, or needles for your preferred method of small diameter circular knitting (eg. magic loop).

Stitch markers.

Stitch holders, large safety pins, or scrap yarn - these will be used to hold stitches at the underarms.

Yarn needle.

Depending on the tubular cast on method you use you may also require a crochet hook and waste yarn.

Gauge

18 sts and 26 rows in stocking st = 4 / 10cm

16sts and 28 rows in 2×2 rib = 4 / 10cm (make sure that both stitch and row gauge are achieved with the rib stretched in the same way).

For the most accurate results swatch in the round.

Its always a good idea to wash and block your swatch before measuring.
