so much for stash busting
This just arrived, well it arrived this morning and I just got up. But the point is we just met.
8 balls of polar in a nice chocolatey brown and 8 skeins of baby pink rowanspun. I’m making another hoodie with the polar, but I have no idea what I’ll do with the rowanspun. I like the lacey blouse in loop-de-loop but I’ve got no idea whether I’d wear it, or if it would look good if I did. Guess I’ll come up with something. Ooh and the best bit? I ordered this less than 24 hours ago, and it was on sale. I think the rowanspun was 95p and the polar was ?3.20. Courtesy of the cucumberpatch.co.uk. Oh and thanks to Becky for telling me about them. She’s making a very cute Arisaig by the way.

Yes, I too am now in love with the Rowanspun. I’ve not ordered from Cucumberpatch before but I’ve browsed many a time, so it is good to see that their service is impressive. Be warned tho - I don’t know if you have used Polar before, but it is very pilly. Lovely to wear, but leaves its marks everywhere. It took less than a day at work for my Polar jumper to leave fluff everywhere, and become a mass of bobbles. It might improve eventually with some shaving, but even so, I’m not all that impressed and have been put off wearing the jumper in public again. But it washes nicely (even if you def have to dry it flat - it stretches a lot).

Is polar nice? I really want to make something out of it. Must find a pattern.
Arisaig is coming on swimmingly! Except, have you used your Rowanspun yet? One of my skiens keeps falling apart, I’ve tied it in together in knots a million times already…Hmph, I might have to email Rowan and see if I can get some free goodies!

I have used polar before, it doesn’t stay nice and smooth. But mine hasn’t pilled so much as just got fuzzier and fuzzier. I wouldn’t use it for a lot of things, but I do love how cozy it is.
Becky, that’s really weird that one of the skeins keeps falling apart - but I would contact the cucumberpatch people instead of rowan. I’m guessing it’s up to the place you bought it from to replace it. I doubt Rowan would give you much in the way of goodies seeing as it’s a discontinued yarn and you bought it on sale :P

Your yarn looked so nice I went to cucumberpatch and ordered a lot for myself. It was meant to be just enough for a cardigan, but with the 15 pound flat rate shipping to NZ, I went a little overboard…
