oh my!

yesterday I got bored and this happened:

thoughts? I’m not sure about it, I wanted it blonder but sorta forgot to buy actual peroxide. This was just a blonding thing. Should I try and get it lighter, dye it bright red, back how it was or just appreciate it in all its coolness? Perhaps most worryingly [...]

Matilda Jane resources

Here are a couple of resources that might help with techniques used for Matilda Jane:
knittinghelp.com - they have videos for most of the things in the pattern, left and right slanting make 1 increases, the decreases, yarn overs, picking up sts etc.
the knitting fiend has great directions for paired lifted increases

Come and get her - matilda jane is yours

Flattering raglan cardigan, with fitted shaping at front and back, ballet neckline and elbow length sleeves. The back features an eyelet panel which laces up with ribbon. The lace neckband is worked first, then stitches are picked up and the cardigan is knit from the top down in one piece. Button bands with facings and [...]

Ysolda Teague, Yarn Magnet

Yesterday my mother’s friend brought me yarn from her mother. Which is cool, most of it is mohair and I’m ignoring the fact that mohair makes me sneeze for the moment. So does carbon but that’s just evidence that I shouldn’t work in an office (photocopiers). But I like how the mohair scarf I knitted [...]

matilda jane the second

me and my friend jamie had a little photoshoot today.

and the photographer:

we had to climb a gate and slip through a fence, which would have been more graceful if either of us had been wearing trousers. At least I had underwear. Oh and for those curious about where this was, it’s beside the Water [...]

So what do you think of this combination?

I’m [...]

i just found my camera cable in the bin

the post title should give you a pretty clear idea of how I am right now. I haven’t quite started panicking about the essay I have due in Friday yet. But I’m not exactly feeling very focused either.
Thanks for your faith in my darning abilities. My little sock is all repaired now and I’m actually [...]

home again, home again, jiggety jig

here are a couple of photos

I’m wearing the jaywalkers I’m knitting in that picture today, but for the last hour I’ve had a cold right foot. I got caught on a nail in the hall floor and look what happened:

Uhoh, I think I need to learn how to darn.

nushy’s hoodie

just a quick post from Thailand to say that Nushy finished her apocalypse hoodie - doesn’t it look great?
?It’s beautiful and hot here and I have absolutely no desire to go home, freeze and sit exams. But at least I’ll be able to wear the Jaywalker’s I’m almost finished knitting.
