i just found my camera cable in the bin

the post title should give you a pretty clear idea of how I am right now. I haven’t quite started panicking about the essay I have due in Friday yet. But I’m not exactly feeling very focused either.

Thanks for your faith in my darning abilities. My little sock is all repaired now and I’m actually proud of my darning. (that being something I never thought I’d say). Of course I didn’t see the knitty article until after I did it, but at least it assured me afterwards that for once MY way was the proper way. I tried to take a picture of the repair - but you can’t really tell where it was. Which I suppose was the goal.

and some silly pictures of the pair:

the yarn is lorna’s laces black purl - very yummy, the only changes I made to the pattern was to add some shaping at the ankles. I have short legs with big calves and skinny ankles - I’ve added extra shaping to every sock I’ve knit.

These were what I knitted in Thailand, I decided wool was the way to go in the end and it seemed fine. I think my dream hot country knitting fibre would be silk, but I didn’t have any. I started working on my pomatomus (err, that might be spelled right) knee highs again while I was there too, but I haven’t taken pictures. As I’d thought I’d screwed up the pattern royally but had also sorted it out - and it’s not actually very noticeable, so I carried on regardless. I’m not exactly a perfectionist.

While uploading the sock picks I found some other stuff I’d meant to post ages ago. So I guess now will do (you know, procrastination and all).

Renee (knitfits in the sidebar) sent me this ace robot fabric months ago and it’s been sitting around waiting for me to get up the guts / find a worthy project to actually cut into it. I needed a new wallet so I decided to make one. The results aren’t perfect and it took about 6 hours and a lot of seam ripping / cursing like a sailor, but I’m pretty pleased. I used to sew a lot and I guess I’d like to get back into it.

Do you remember that cloche hat I made and kept promising to post? Well here is a single crappy shot, one day I promise it will be improved upon.

Not sure if I mentioned it but the eagle eyed will notice the progress bar that appeared a while ago for Matilda Jane the second, so here are a couple preview pics. The knitting is almost done, but the essay is in the way. Notice the fact that my stitch markers match my knitting. It wasn’t deliberate, honest.

A Matilda Jane the Second? Wow. You are one dedicated knitter. However, I love the stuff. Especially the cloche! (And, more importantly, your eyeshadow. The colour is great :) And matches the hat. You must have a kind of inbuilt colour system. I wonder why?)

What else do I love? Ooooh, the socks! And the wallet! I’m going to shut up now before your head gets too big ;)

like the socks. I googled that lorna’s laces shade the other day and wasn’t so impressed, but your jaywalked ones look great.

i went for “vera” in the end though. I shall see how they go

Delurking here. Kudos to the choice of eye shadow color. I thought its a nice touch as it brought out the color of your eye and the cloche. absolutely love the wallet! If only I can sew as well. I don’t want to sound like I’m gushing but I like your socks too! The pooling makes it interesting (most jaywalkers I saw are pretty much the same)
