My aunt gave me this amazing old battered box of vintage Liberty fabrics that had originally been my great-aunt’s (I think). Yesterday I finally thought of something to use some for. I was trying to find ribbon and buttons for the new Matilda Jane, but nothing was perfect.

So what do you think of this combination?

I’m not a hundred percent sure this is a good idea. But I might as well try it. I even remembered to get interfacing so that the fabric wouldn’t be too thin for covering the buttons. I’ve never covered buttons before, but it can’t be too hard can it?

I think after this I need to knit something a little less girly.
