you’ve got red on you

did I post about that super-concentrated red food colouring I got? The stuff that is only an E number? Well here’s what happens when you use too much of it and not enough vinegar when dying wool:

My flatmate suggested that we should go to A+E (ER) and I could get out of my exam because of the horrific burns. I don’t think they’d be very convinced. Scrubbing only took some of it off.

And look what’s been tempting me since it arrived on Thursday morning (Ordered Tuesday night - the cucumber patch is certainly fast):

I haven’t even touched it yet, I promise.

Maybe red tiger striped feet will catch on? I believe in it.

Hi! Just to clarify–the nasty “burns” on your feet would actually be the WHITE (non-dyed) areas….Third degree burns leave the skin either charred or white (third degree burns go all the way down to the dermis, burning nerves, hair follicles, and blood vessels–this is why it looks white).
Just a little tidbit for you…
Cheers!

oo-er. Looks a bit nasty. You never know though, it could catch on. Sort of like henna tattoos, only odder. Maybe you could design socks that deliberately put pretty patterns on your feet.

Or maybe not.

Aah, red foot! I dyed both my feet green once, my friend was dressing up as a elf for halloween (she takes dressin up quite seriously obviously), and she bathed in a bath full of 11 bottles of green food colouring and a bit of water (it was so funny, she couldn’t wash it off for a week so she had to go sick from work)! And afterwards I happened to stand in it.

How’s the linen drape? I’ve been debating ordering some…

Is the reddy pink stuff linen drape? I got a pack in the same colour (hugely reduced) last year but I haven’t used it yet. I’m interested to see what you do with yours.
