up the airy mountain, down the rushing glen,

we dare not go a hunting for fear of little men!

First I found them cuddled up on the sofa

and then they jumped out the window to enjoy the sunny ‘balcony’

Pattern: my own, which I have written up so I’m up for sharing if anyone cares.

Yarn: rowan polar

Needles: 7.5mm circular, I tried out magic loop because I could only find 1 dpn in this size. I’m not exactly a convert but it went speedily and worked well for this where I can split the knitting into 2 identical halves.

Details: needle felted on, which feels very voodoo and fun.

But why so many toys?

I will be at the Miso Funky craft fair in Glasgow on the 27th of May. It’s very exciting, but I have lots of work to do. If you’re in the area it would be very cool to see you.

I went to the library today and picked up these:

The crochet book is because while I can crochet in the round I have never done a rectangle that didn’t go wonky. I have no plans to take up quilting but I bought some shirts to embroider for the fair and the Japanese quilting book has some very inspiring geometric designs.

I have pizza in the oven so I guess I better go.

Oooo! I’m the first commenter - don’t I feel special! :) Please share the pattern - those little men are so cute! I don’t have any patterns of my own to swap, but I can trade you something fun from Canada when i go home next week! The little men remind me of the ugly dolls (www.uglydolls.com), but in a knitted sort of way - which is ever so much more fun!

PS: what kind of pizza did you make?

(oops, I guess Rilana beat me to the first commenter spot - serves me right for typing so slowly!)

Aah, how adorable! Their expressions are fantastic ;)

And I really, really wish I didn’t live 9 hours (by car, ?80 by train…) away from Glasgow :(

Those little characters look SO cute! They must be so soft made from Polar. I was wondering what you would make with all that Polar from a couple of posts ago. Great job!

Wow! They are adorable!! I can only imagine how soft & cuddly they must be. Polar is wonderful stuff.

They are great fun - I’d love the pattern.

Ok and here is where I sound like a dunce and could just as easily use google but what does needle felted on mean?

Oh, they’re so cute! How do you needlefelt? :)

I have some Cashmerino superchunky stuff that’s cursed, I’ve knitted and frogged about 10 different things with it, it’s not really enough for any sort of garmet, but would be peeeeerfect for something like that!

Pattern, go on! :P

Those are adorable, and I’d love the pattern as well. I’m also planning to purchase your pattern for the Apocolypse Hoodie soon. I saw it and said aloud to my hubby “Oh my god, I’ve found the perfect sweater.”

This is not for publication, but as an insufferable purist, I thought you might like to know that “down the rushing glen” is apparently incorrect. I believe it should be “down the rushy glen.” It may not matter to anyone. And of course, if I’m incorrect, I apologize. Cheers.
