the third (and last) post of the evening

I had to share this. I explained in this post why I named Matilda Jane that, but I think this might explain where the name’s use as a pet name originates: ‘Bessie’s Song to her Doll,’ by Lewis Carroll. It certainly sounds very familiar but I have no memory of reading it. I hated Alice in Wonderland as a child, and only read all of it a few years ago, but my mother knows most of the poetry by heart along with lots of Carroll’s other poetry and I remember her singing them to me. Incidentally I have a beautiful 1887 edition of Alice.

Do you have an RSS feed for your blog? I haven’t been able to find one but that’s how I generally watch blogs…

I do - it’s http://www.ysolda.me.uk/wordpress/index.php/feed/
I suppose I should put up a link to that somewhere. I use bloglines and just have a subscribe button in my toolbar that automatically finds the feeds for blogs. By the way please don’t put anon as your name and an obviously fake email. I don’t care at all what you use as your name/ email and whether they’re real or not. However using those names just gets you caught in my spam filter, I only happened to check it today.
