all about me
Ok, so apparently the knitalong idea is a good one. Which is ace because I think it’s going to be fun. I’ve set it up as a seperate wordpress blog, but you’re not getting to see yet - it’s pretty ugly. This has motivated me to actually make a new theme - for the knitalong blog and my blog. There are a few features I’d like to implement, but if there is anything you would like to see let me know.
While peeking around my blog and thinking about this redesign I noticed that when I first did this (over a year ago) I stuck an ‘about’ link in the header. Mainly because I’m nosy and I like to find out things about other blog writers on such pages, so I figured my readers might want to know about me. But if you’re observant you’ll notice that that link produces an error page. This isn’t an error, I just never made that about page. Mainly because I had no idea what to say on it. So now I have promised myself, that with the redesign I will make that ‘about me’ page. But I still don’t know what to write for it.
So…
This is where you come in, especially if you’re nosy. (Isn’t everyone?) Well now you have an excuse to be nosy. What do you want to know about me? Ask away. Do you have any ideas for what I should include on it? Let me know. Either comment, or if for some reason you don’t want everyone else to see just how nosy you can be given an excuse email me: mail [at] ysolda [dot] me [dot] uk

Vanity Fair magazine (a U.S. mag) does a Proust questionnaire as the last page of every issue. It’s got some pretty good questions and could be a good starting point. Here’s a link to one version of it: http://www.vanityfair.com/entertainment/proustQA/articles
good luck with it!

I’m really excited about you putting together a knitalong site for your patterns. I just started Matilda Jane so I think it would be so great to have that as a resource!! Thanks!

I am the nosiest of nosy. I’d like to see pictures of every inch of your home, your friends, everything. And I’d read every little tidbit of your life you shared. I love knowing everything.

I’m looking forward to the KAL blog! I bought the Apocalypse Tree Hoodie pattern but haven’t started it yet due to the discontinuation of Rowan Polar… still mulling over possible subs. Oh, and I’d like to know which of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse you’d be, if you had to pick. I’d be Famine. It sounds like it’d be a girl’s name.

We want to know everything!
Favourites books, favourite films, what you were like as a child, where you like to go out to, favourite films, favourite cosmetics, what you’d like to do for a job, where you’d live given the choice, favourite holiday destinations, EVERYTHING!

I find it hard to talk about me as well. I think thats why I have one of those generalist comments on my About page, eg I like to craft, knit, etc. I like to hear about where people live. This might sound freaky if we were in the same town, but seeing as it appears that we are a whole hemisphere apart, anything about your side of the world is interesting to me!!

Ooh, I’m nosy. Maybe a bit too nosy, like I’d ask you all about your family and and friends, music tastes, if you’ve ever had your heart broken, what chocolate you like, what your view on the middle east is, where you would like to travel, who you would have a civil partnership with if you could choose anyone…
Ok, so there we are - noblins like to know a lot of things.

oooh so many questions…how long have you been knitting for? what was your favourite holiday? how do you organise all your craft stuff? I could go on, I am very nosy. But I’ll be restrained!

I’m alwasy nosy about mundane things: age, occupation, etc. I like to get those things out of the way and move on to more interesting topics: political ideas, desires, strange habits, etc.

I want to know where your name came from and what it means!

Perhaps it seems a bit mundane, but I like just reading about what inspired you to start knitting, when, and about some of your fav/least favorite projects.

I agree about the music. Like what music inspires you to want to create.
As well as a more general “what prompted you to create that pattern”.
Anything else you want to share would be very cool too!

I have no additional nosyness, but this sounds great!
