Briar Rose
The sun finally came out for a little while today so we took some photos. Summer doesn’t seem to be coming, but these at least look summery.
This second version of the bolero was basically to refine some issues with the fit, but style wise the major differences are in the two different yarns I used and the different border patterns (both will be included in the pattern). The Lana Grossa Royal Tweed I used for this version is a bit thicker and much less drapey than the Noro Cash Iroha I used for the first version (Oh my! I took that picture at the beginning of April?!)
Thought it might be interesting to see how quite a different effect can be achieved with the same design by changing the yarn. The pattern for this is actually almost done. Just need to add some pictures of the pink version and some illustrations.
Won’t be working on it tomorrow though because I’ll be teaming the dress in these photos with a gown that’s almost certainly going to drown me. I’m sure I’ll have some silly graduation pictures to share. After that I have some new projects in the works that I’ve been meaning to share.

Oh, I love this bolero! It looks so pretty on you, and I especially like the puffy sleeves. I also love your white dress, by the way!

I love the shrug. It looks so comfy! I also really like the way you have your hair. How did you do it? It seems like it would be a comfortable way to get my hair off my neck over here in Tx. ;) And congrats on graduating tomorrow!!

Congrats on graduating! I’m looking forward to the pattern. It is amazing how different the same pattern looks in two yarns - always something to keep in mind.

It reminds me of a Regency spencer, with the full sleeve caps and short length. It’s very nice on your diminutive person.

This is stunning! I will definitely need to make one for myself one of these days. I also love your hair. Could you show us how it was done?

Your photos are lovely! Makes me want to be in Scotland again - I was there several years ago and spent a couple of days in Edinburgh - loved it!

Wow, that’s really lovely. I like what you’ve done with the sleeves - I haven’t really seen anything quite like them before. Beautiful photos, too!

I love the green, but this is the first time I like something in Noro more… it looks less - searching for the word - supple, flowing… loosely…it gives a more elegant fit…

Oh my! It’s perfect! I was looking for the right thing to wear over a new dress I bought and hadn’t found anything quite right. I can’t wait for this pattern to come out. Maybe it will get me out of my knitting slump. ;)
Congratulations on your graduation! I remember year number 22 VERY fondly. It was the year I lived abroad in Belfast, NI! I felt like I was floating between Uni and adulthood. Wonderful… I hope 22 treats you just as well.
