With old lace doily patterns found in books in this fantastic collection. For the super curious this is 2 repeats of fig. 73 in the Priscilla Cotton Knitting Book.

I can’t share everything I’ve been working on, but I did get around to trying something I’ve been thinking of for a while.
I really love the result, what do you think?
This was just a test really, but I do have a bigger plan for these that I’m looking forward to putting into action.

It’s really pretty! It can be used for a collar or an edging, really pretty!

Can’t see all the stamped pattern on the paper, but does gives a good effect - like it still :) Can’t wait to see the finished result of the big plan you have in mind for it.

That site is a fab resource, and I especially love the way the lace looks stamped. Kind of a fresher taste on the classic.

That printing would look spectacular on a wall (as a sort of faux wallpaper design almost).

I took printmaking in high school and thought of doing something like this several times, but never got around to it. Looks beautiful!

I’m not assuming that as an English major there is no way you’d know this, but I was a Printmaking major and in case you ever need to explain that impression from the inked up lace, it’s called a collagraph. It came out cute. I printed some knitting a couple times and I found the best thing to do was glue the material down to a board (bristol or matboard, or something like that), coat it with gesso, and then ink that and run it. My two cents (pence? I’m American.) xoxo.
