Making a dreich November cozier

By finally stitching in the elastic that means I can wear wooly knee socks* without them ending up around my ankles,

pairing them with the snuggly apocalypse hoodie that I’ve been wearing constantly since I finished it on Saturday (the aforementioned dreichness has so far prevented any decent photos being taken of this),

drinking big mugs of tea and eating cake,

and making what I can only call a nest in my studio.

*Do you remember the Snow White Stockings - this is what became of them. More on why they didn’t make it above the knees later.

I like the hoodie! Hello from Canada, where we just got our first snowfall of the season! I just bought wool and dpns for the Belle beret today. And I finished my first lace-up opera glove and love it. Thank you for the wonderful patterns and ideas.

It looks so cozy! I’ve contemplated putting a bed in my craft room, but I’d probably be too relaxed and fall asleep. :P

Anywho, I’m excited for the Apocolypse hoodie!

Ha! Nest is so much cuter than ‘arse dent’ which is what I call the little corner I burrow into every evening.

Looks like a very lovely dreich (?) November indeed!

What a great way to enjoy November! Now that our temperatures are below freezing, I can wear my handknits and burrow under blankets. I just love it.

Eugh, so jealous. London is pretty dam’d dreich at the moment - got wet feet and straggly hair, and really fancy a cup of tea and a nest to cosy up in.

I’m often hardpressed to find anything better than a lovely mug of tea on a cold November day, that’s for sure!

I love to nest except I don’t just do it in my studio but all over the house and at my parents house too. It drives my mum and husband insane, you have to be cosie while creating… well thats my excuse.

Heehee, I knew you’d manage to make something of that excess mattress! Good nest :) Is the use of “dreich” to assert your Scottishness or just because you like the word? I’d forgotten about it, must start using it again… xxx
