3 new urchins + 3 new knitters!

Today I taught the follow up class in my 2 part beginner knitting course and it was a little disappointing that only half the class came back but I’m really proud of the 3 that did return. They all managed to complete their urchins successfully and are already talking about their next projects, yay!

If you’re in Edinburgh remember that we’ll be doing our first Monday lunchtime knitting clinic tomorrow in K1 on Victoria Street / West Bow from 12-2. There are more details here and I’d love it if you could come along.

I think it’s so satisfying to teach people to knit! They did a great job on their urchins, very cool.

Yay for teaching knitting! I’m signed up to teach some knitting classes and I’m a bit nervous about the whole thing. Looking at your smiling students makes me feel a bit more at ease…

monday knitting clinics would certainly banish monday-itis! as for your urchin learners, they almost tempt me (the person who looks stupid in any hat) to make one (alas, I don’t think it’s make me look as cool though!)

Hi, good teaching job! I just started teaching knitting classes too. Well, workshops really, like you I’m teaching how to knit some of my own patterns. I’m still thinking about ways to get more muggles to come. Flyers are beeing printed but I’m sure most of the muggles that will come will have heard of it by word of mouth so it probably takes a slow start and a handfull of happy knitters to get more. Teach on!!

It looks like they (and you!) did a nice job. I think it will be nice to be able to do Urchin in a lighter weight yarn. I’ve looked at it a lot, but being able to knit it with lighter yarn makes it more accessible.

Your students look great and I’m looking forward to the lightweight version, I live in a more temperate part of the US. I was also delighted to read of your clinic on Mondays because I will be visiting Edinburgh for 3 days next month. See you there!
