This morning, thanks to a phone still on Norwegian time, I accidentally got up an hour earlier than I meant to. Since, by the time I realised this, I was eating my hastily made breakfast it actually made the morning seem rather leisurely, which set the tone for the rest of the day.

_

I walked along the canal to meet Sarah (fellow K1 employee) at the farmers market.

And then we both went to work on a day that we had off. There was no way that we were going to miss today though. Lilith aka Old Maiden Aunt made a special guest appearance and she brought soooo much yarn (and although a lot of it sold, there was some leftover and I know she’s planning on listing it online. It’s beautiful stuff so I’ll be sure to let you know when she does).

_-3

Eventually we managed to tear ourselves away from Lillith’s mesmerising spinning to go for lunch and ice cream. And then we headed back to hang out at the store for the rest of the afternoon. It’s good to work somewhere I want to go to even when I’m not working!

p.s. Much as I love this place, it’s turned out not to be so safe for little Elijah. The wee guy’s gone missing and while it seems likely that he was stolen I’d like to think there’s a nicer explanation. Just on the offchance, if you’ve been in the store this week with small children, can you check your bags in case he was hidden away to take home or anything. So I’m on a find Elijah campaign now, any suggestions? I’m thinking of offering a reward, because I promise that he’s worth more to me than the person who now has him, but I doubt that will really work. Sadly it looks like he’s long gone.

Oh how sad! I hope you find Elijah and that he comes home safe. I just got to play with the yarn he is made with yesterday and I can see why he is so appealing.

This is the saddest news I’ve heard today. Hopefully, a miracle will happen, and he will be home. I know he misses you just as much. I’m sure you called the shop. Oh, I feel so badly about Elijah!

Have you put up lost notice? You could make a lost pet style poster and put it up in the shop window. Hopefully it would jog someone’s memory (or conscience).
good luck x

Poor Elijah! We passed you as you were walking to the farmer’s market and we were leaving it, I would have stopped to say hi but we had Jon’s dad with us and he was in a rush to get to his next destination.

So sorry to hear about Elijah. It would definitely be worth putting up a lost/missing sign in the shop. I hope he comes home safely to you.

Oh, dear, Elijah is missing? Here’s hoping that he just got stuffed into the wrong bag, :(

Maybe Elija has gone to someone who really does need him more than you. That’s how I try to look at things when I lose something precious.

Hi Ysolda, I really feel for you and poor Elijah :-( That’s really sad. I lost my favourite toy rabbit named ‘Bun Bun’ on the North York Moors when I was little and was totally heartbroken. A week later some kind soul posted it back through our letter box as I was so well known for my rabbit! I hope that Elijah turns up for you.
I’ve just bought your lovely Otto bear patterns, can’t wait to get started, were also visiting Edinburgh next week to see family so I’ll be sure to pop into K1 it looks fab. x

oh no! I have got my little stripy Elijah to put out a trunk call for The Original Elijah! how sad :-( maybe you need to knit a stunt double for your events. After I had my camera stolen at an event I swore I’d stick to my ancient 35mm camera (or knit a stunt double). Hope you find him soon. x

Goodness, I surely hope the little guy finds his way back to where he belongs! Shall we post flyers? Get the fluffy St. Bernard’s to go on a search and bring home mission?

The canal picture could have been taken right here in the Netherlands…

As the mother as very small people, while I would NEVER condone nor allow them to steal, if it truly was a very small person that took it they must have become VERY attached to it to do that. I think it is only a testament to your design that a child would become such fast friends with him.

Whenever I lose something dear to me I think the person who took it must have needed it much more than me, and that I may have helped someone in need without even knowing them. (it takes some of the sting away) ;-)

I’m sorry to hear about Elijah. At least you are thinking more positive about him being taken away by someone who will care for him just as much, if not, better than you can.

I’ve made cute monsters out of socks and displayed them in an art gallery once. I found out weeks later that someone has taken two out of three away from me, the third being misplaced elsewhere. I was sad and hoped that they’re with someone who really cares for them. So I understand how you feel about Elijah being missing.

Oh no! It took me awhile to see this post. I saw Elijah just the week before in the shop! He was so charming I had to take a photo - That’s terrible that he’s gone now :-(

I hope that some child simply picked it up to hug it (as I’m sure many small children would - and have - found Elijah completely irresistible) and then *accidentally* walked out with him still under their arm. I always feel so violated when something of mine gets stolen. You have an excellent attitude, I’m sure wherever he is he’s very loved.
