YIP 10 - 10th Jan - well loved
I like to read before I go to sleep, but often I’m too sleepy to deal with anything that requires much thought and then I find myself turning, over and over, to the same books. Last week I picked up my Noel Streadfield collection from my mum’s house and I’ve been working my way through them. I think this is the last time I’ll be able to read this particular one though, about 20 pages were already lost. Maybe by the time I’ve read them all I’ll have the energy for some new books.

I grew up with copies of Ballet Shoes and Theater Shoes (and need to add to my collection, I think), but that's a Streatfeild I haven't read. I'm going to have to go look it up!

...and after looking it up, I just realized that Theater Shoes must be the Americanized title. Small world!

I think at some point (in the 70s) a publisher renamed a lot of her books to go with Ballet Shoes. Dancing shoes, Theater Shoes, Circus Shoes etc were originally published with different titles.

oops :) maybe it's time to get a new copy.
