flickr groups

by ysoldateague July 27, 2006

the knitalong blog is coming along, but it’s not ready yet.
I have, however created a bunch of flickr groups. The ones for each pattern are intended to be used to post finished object pics in. The knitalong group can be used for in progress shots, intended yarn, etc. The super amazing thing is that these groups will become galleries integrated into the new blog, and if you join the knitalong you will be able to directly load your photos from flickr into a post when writing it. I’m not especially familiar with flickr though so if anyone wants to point out something I’ve missed or should have done or something go ahead. I thought this was the best way to create integrated galleries in the new blog while still letting people who haven’t joined the knitalong post photos of their finished objects.

Anyway, on with the linkage:

I’m so excited to see all the photos you add

Introducing DK versions of Ravelston and Stockbridge

We’ve just released DK gauge versions of my popular Stockbridge and Ravelston patterns, which were originally published for a fingering weight yarn. They’re essentially designed around the same basic construction and with a similar fit, Stockbridge is a cardigan and Ravelston a pullover.  My goal with both is that they’ll be staple patterns you can use to build your handknit wardrobe, the kind of basic patterns that work for lots of different looks.

Lightweight cowls

Lightweight cowls are the perfect alternative to a shawl or scarf when you want to be able to toss something on quickly and know it will stay in place. I’ve really enjoyed designing them over the last few years and now have a few options to fit different styles.
