This is the pullover Bex has been dreaming of since we first decided to order Einrúm, after we visited Iceland together for 24 hours on our way home from the 2017 Women’s march in Washington DC. We found Einrúm in lots of little boutiques in Reykjavik and fell in love with its subtle shimmer.
We are very excited by the new colours of Finull PT2 that just arrived - they are a beautiful set of heathered shades and we are looking forward to using them. We think these really round out the Finull PT2 palette and you should expect lots of colour work suggestions from us inspired by these new colours. We've had fun taking pictures of the colours together and will be sharing some ideas of how they can be combined soon.
This issue is so packed with beautiful projects to knit, sew, weave and craft that we thought it was worth going through them, highlighting some of the patterns and making some yarn suggestions from our shop - we have this conversation in the studio every time a new magazine comes in but this issue of Making seemed especially rich in inspiration.
We recently started stocking cross stitch kits fromJunebug and Darlin both because we love them and also because we recognise that in parts of the world that aren't Scotland, there are months when knitting is not that enjoyable and it is good to have other craft options.
Zoe was kind enough to record a brief overview of her crafting philosophy. We have shared that over on Ysolda's instagram, but we are putting the transcript here.
We are so pleased to introduce Gilliatt, the worsted weight version of Cyrano (Aran) and Ulysse (Sport). De Rerum Natura is a small yarn producer with a thoughtful approach to sourcing and raw materials. All the manufacturing stages are carried out in France, keeping processing and energy use to a minimum. The wool in each yarn line is a blend of French and European merino, produced in the most ecological way with concern for both the wellbeing of sheep and the environment.
