Clara Parkes launched a new venture: Clara Yarn. A pop-up shop featuring limited edition small batch yarns that’s a natural and exciting part of her other ventures. Not surprisingly, the first yarn, a plump worsted weight cormo, has a wonderful story that highlights how important the community behind the fibre is. Gorgeous yarn is always exciting, but I’m really interested to see more models for producing and selling yarns appear too.

It was announced that I’ll be teaching at an exciting festival in Hamburg. I’ve never even been to Germany so I’m looking forward to this trip.

Gwen Matthewman who held the world records for both fastest and most prolific knitter passed away at the age of 86. Read about her inspiring achievements in her obituary.

The Edinburgh Yarn Festivalannounced that they’ll be back in 2015 in a new, much larger venue.

Designer Olga Buraya-Kefelian, one of the most innovative designers I know, launched a beautiful new website.

The spring issue of Knittyis out.

Knockando, a mill in Scotland that has been producing yarn and textiles since 1784 now has a handknitting yarn.Look out for my thoughts on the yarn and more about the mill soon.

Knitting for refugees in The Telegraph: Why is the most fashionable Women’s Institute knitting again? But oh can we please stop with the surprise that younger women knit.

Kate Davies has new tea towels featuring illustrations of her garment designs by Felicity Ford. I do love illustrations of handknits.

I launched a new pattern: wee Chickadee for babies and toddlers.
