When asked to contribute to this project, I immediately wanted to do a modern update to the classic Fisherman knit. It was an excellent excuse to knit with this gorgeous Cormo wool from Foxhill Farm. Stitch patterns arranged in a classic Fisherman’s panel style with asymmetric cables for an unexpected, modern twist. Keeping detail outside of the main panel to a minimum reduces bulk. The double seed stitch panels on each side do allow you to play with shaping should you desire. Sleeves knit with only a slim cable keep things simple and streamlined. The ballet neckline is feminine and open, and the little button addition both draws the eye up and gives you an excuse to put a fun detail up on the collar. All in all, a softer, modern, and more flattering take on an old favourite.
