The suggested gauges given above are from the yarn label, but Leizu fingering has a luxurious hand and beautiful drape when worked at a looser gauge for shawl or scarf projects. Try it at around 5-6 stitches per inch.

Leizu (Chinese: 嫘祖; pinyin: Léi Zǔ) was a legendary Chinese empress and wife of the Yellow Emperor. According to tradition, she discovered silk, sericulture, and invented the silk loom, in the 27th century BC.

Leizu is hand dyed and while we do our best to send you skeins that match, some variation is to be expected and is part of the beauty of the product. We suggest you alternate skeins to reduce pooling.
