Limited Shipping

After many, and still ongoing, discussions as a team, we have decided to open the online store for limited shipping.

  • This means two things: one, that we will be offering only a limited selection from the shop and that two, we will be monitoring the order volume carefully.

To keep staff working safely this means that only one person will be in the studio packing orders at a time. To reduce the pressure we’re putting on other services who visit our space, we’ll be moving to shipping once a week on Thursdays.

Orders may be closed when we reach the capacity for what one person can safely manage. Orders received by midnight BST on the Wednesday of each new collection release will be shipped on the Thursday of the same week, safety permitting. Our highest priority is staff safety, and in order to maintain that we may not be able to ship your order as quickly as usual, thank you for your patience.

Our plan over the next few weeks is to issue a new collection of products, at the beginning of the week, that will be available for shipping that Thursday. This is, of course, dependent on us being able to safely ship, and the government guidelines continuing to allow us to do so. If there’s something you’d like to order please make suggestions in this Ravelry thread, and we’ll do our best to work them in to our schedule.

Ordering other items

If you you need something to finish an existing project, like a single ball of yarn, or you’re finding that knitting is getting you through but you’re running out of supplies we should be able to help. We know that, for some of you, crafting is hugely important to your mental health, and that some of you are using knitting in your time off to help you get through the difficult work you’re doing in healthcare and other key services. We want to support your crafting needs if we can! If you, or a family member, needs something that we’re not including in our weekly updates for those reasons, please fill out the form on this page and we’ll get back to you with an invoice.

When will I receive my order?

UK orders are sent by first class post, which is generally a next day service but some areas are currently experiencing longer delays. 

International shipping to some areas, particularly those which are restricting International flights, that have closed or reduced operations in customs offices, or that are experiencing local delivery issues, are likely to take longer than usual and we don't currently have enough information to advise on a timeframe. We strongly advise upgrading to tracked shipping at checkout. 

What should I do if my order does not arrive?

If your order has not arrived within this time frame, and there are no local problems such as postal strikes or adverse weather, please first contact your local post office / parcel depot. Royal Mail - International Incident Bulletin.

Lost parcels are rare but will be replaced where possible and stocks last, and if not we will offer a refund. Please contact us at orders@ysolda.com, with your order number and your full address.


A few questions have come up recently about returns. We will be honouring all returns, but we will extend the return period to four weeks. Returns may be processed at a slower rate as we will only be in the studio once per week, but as of now, our postie is still delivering regularly. Unfortunately exchanges will not be available at this time.

We’re not sure how long limited shipping will be in place for and it’s likely to change at fairly short notice. Your orders right now are making a big difference to how much of a cushion we have to weather this and to help support our team.
