Sarah (our resident dyer) and Ysolda worked together to create the shade for last year's club. A year later, we are releasing the club colourway and Thebe, the original club pattern.
The base is soft and silky and the colours almost glow on it. It's ideal for fingering weight projects where you want good drape and crisp stitch definition — perfect for lace shawls and cowls.
The club shade is created by layering dyes on top of each other to give the shade depth. Sarah enjoyed working with the yarn, so a further range of colours for EYF 2019 was created. Each colour is named after a Scottish woman artist. We used it to knit the Fraxinus pattern in Phyllis and Doris as well as the 2018 Ysolda Club pattern Thebe in the Original Club Colour and Wilhelmina.
Note that Phyllis is a very dark purple with some subtle variagation, it's particularly hard to photograph but was our most popular colourway in person.
