3.53oz and 437 yards per skein.
6 sts = 1" on US 4, 3.5mm needles.
70% Alpaca, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere
Quantities are very limited, Verb are based in California and several American stores will have this collection so I’d recommend ordering it from somewhere localish if you’re in the US.
A limited edition range of eleven subtle and complex naturally dyed colourways that change dramatically depending on the light. Fascinating but rather difficult to represent fully in photographs. The dye process means that there will also be some variation in how solid or semi-solid individual skeins are (although all will work well for complex stitch patterning). The fibre blend produces crisp lace with a slight halo and the silk reflects light to show texture well. Perfect for luxurious one skein projects that will be worn next to the skin.
Kristine Vejar, founder of A Verb for Keeping Warm (aka AVFKW) discovered natural dyeing on a research trip to India and her world turned upside down - or maybe right-side up. She began practicing natural dyeing in her kitchen and created a small line of naturally-dyed yarn which has now turned into a dye studio producing 200-300 pounds of naturally dyed yarn, fabric, and fiber a month. Learn more about natural dyes, and dyeing your own yarns, fibres and fabrics, in Kristine's inspiring book The Modern Natural Dyer.
