  • We love sharing the joy of creativity and we really love championing small, independent businesses. Our goal is to empower knitters to confidently tackle new skills, explore their creativity and create the handmade wardrobe that they dream of.  

    Word of mouth is by far the most valuable marketing, and we appreciate every store that creates a sample, every youtuber who hosts a kal, and every magazine that features one of our patterns. We know how hard you work, and we'd love to help! Below you'll find some of things we can provide to make your marketing easier, and to thank you for choosing our patterns.

    We know it makes life much easier when you can plan your marketing and content so we've created our industry newsletter just for you. Sign up and we'll send you advance marketing materials, complimentary patterns and exclusive discount codes for upcoming releases – plus information about the yarns featured so that you can choose a good match from your range. Sign ups are open to anyone working in the knitting and yarn industry.

    How can we help?

    Yarn stores

    Got a knitalong coming up? A sample that everyone is drooling over? How about a discount code for you and your community? As regular newsletter writers, we know the power of a coupon code, so let us help you out! We can generate exclusive discount codes for your store customers on both our website as well as Ravelry.

    Planning on knitting an Ysolda pattern as a sample? We're happy to provide yarn stores with a free copy of the pattern for this. It's on the house! Plus, sign up to our industry newsletter and we'll routinely send you advance copies of upcoming releases.

    We work with a number of yarn stores who provide original workshops featuring our patterns.

    We're always happy for yarn stores to feature our patterns in classes, as long as each participant purchases their own copy. You don't need to ask permission. Reach out though, and we can provide pattern copies for instructors and are happy to discuss licensing and discount codes for your workshop attendees.

    Our patterns are available in Ravelry's in store programme which allows knitters to buy patterns available on Ravelry through your store. To find out more about this programme for yarn stores, you can read here for info (link takes you to Ravelry).

    We do not currently offer print patterns wholesale.

    Recent events Ysolda has participated in include the key note address for Vogue Knitting Live and an online live event with San Diego North Coast Knitters Guild.To propose an event, simply let us know what the format would be, ie interview or talk; the proposed dates; your fee range; as well as the platform you'd like to host this through. All proposals can be sent to us via our work with us form below or to content@ysolda.com

    Yarn companies

    We're always interested in trying new yarns, and aim to feature a diverse range of yarns in our designs. If you have something that you think we'd like to see please do get in touch. We're particularly interested in working with, and promoting, yarn producers and dyers from marginalised backgrounds.

    Generally we pay for the yarn used in our samples, and know that providing yarn support can be onerous for smaller companies. If yarn support or discounts for designers is part of your marketing plan we'd love to hear about it, but if it's not please don't see that as a barrier to us working together!

    Freelance creatives

    If you have an idea we'd love to hear about it. Fill out the form below and let us know what you're thinking. Past collaborations have included a Knitter cross stitch design with Junebug and Darlin', a sweater pattern in the Tin Can Knits collection Heart on My Sleeve, and a pattern translation and Chinese workshop with Knitting in English.

    We occasionally commision patterns by other designers. If we have an open call for submissions planned we'll share this on our newsletter and social media.

    We're working on expanding our range of free tutorials and online courses and have worked with several wonderful creatives in the past. If any of that is in your wheelhouse we'd love to hear from you!
