Slippers are the ultimate project to make use of brioche stitch, with its thick fabric and elasticity.
The Cabin Slippers were made to be easy to put on and hard to take off: the perfect accessory for snuggling up under a blanket as you watch the snow fall. A wide size range means that you can make them for everyone in the family, or stock a basket to give guests the ultimate warm welcome to your home.
The Cabin slippers is currently exclusive to the Knitworthy 7 collection and will be released as an individual pattern in mid-December.
Our latest collection of beautiful accessory patterns, perfect to gift. Knitworthy 7 comprises of six patterns and this year includes access to a dedicated community group in the Knitwork!
Construction begins with the cuffs, which can be worked to ankle length or long enough to fold over. A single column of increases beautifully curves around the foot, highlighted by the architectural lines of brioche stitch. Short rows are used to lengthen the top of the foot, and the soles are worked flat in garter stitch, from toe to heel, decreasing onto the live upper stitches as you go. The only finishing required is grafting a few stitches together at the back of the heel.
