Alleunmer makes the most of the simple beauty of traditional gansey stitch patterns, most of which use nothing but knits and purls. The cowl is worked in the round, in two circumferences: a large, dramatic loop perfect for doubling over and a neat, cozy buff.
A decorative Channel Islands cast-on gives the bottom garter stitch band a knotted edge and incorporates another traditional gansey element. The cowl is completed with a textured rib pattern and all of the stitch patterns look great when worn in either direction so there’s no need to worry about top and bottom.
