A pair of pretty mitts featuring simple stitch patterns that follow the natural contours of the hand. The gusset is an integral part of the design and is worked with a single column of yarn overs that follow the curve of the lines on the palm. Two by two rib gives a snug fit and a little extra warmth around the wrist (I don't know about you but my wrists are always colder than my hands!).

The ribbing is gradually incorporated into a simple lace and texture stitch pattern that deconstructs and reassembles traditional fern lace patterns. The mitts are long enough to cover the first knuckle while allowing full finger motion and are completed with a few rounds of two by two rib.
