There's someone in every knitter's life who likes their clothes plain and simple, but is pretty fussy about what exactly that means. We're fairly confident that they'll like this neat brioche rib beanie. Keep things simple with tonal neutrals or add a bright colour contrast subdued with a neutral main. The contrast colour shown is a barber-pole yarn with one ply that matches the main colour and one darker one. This is an interesting subtle way to tone down contrasting colours.
Directions are given for completely reversible decreases for increased wearability but rearranging the stitches to work these is a bit awkward. Don’t feel like doing that — just follow the alternative simpler decrease directions. You’ll still get a great hat but the decreases won’t be quite as neat on the reverse.
