Aoibhinn features my favourite thumb shaping which fits well and is easy to work by increasing in a single column on the palm side of the thumb stitches. The thumbs feature ribbing which highlights the curve of this shaping and echoes the two stitch ribs used in the cable pattern. Shaping for the top of the mitten is worked neatly into the cable pattern and the front and back stitches are grafted together to close the top.
