The perfect cosy slippers that will fit everyone's feet. Knit in chunky yarn to create the thickest soles, the folded cuff will keep them on snugly, which is lucky, as you may never want to take them off!
These slippers were designed with the highest levels of cosiness in mind! Construction begins from the centre of the sole, which is worked in the round in garter stitch to get that extra squishy feel and shaped with short rows for a close, anatomical fit. Working out from this point you then create a ribbed, deeply folded cuff which will keep the slippers secure and ensure that every toe is happy and warm!

A Drey is the nest of a tree squirrel, flying squirrel or ringtail possum and much like the appearance of slippers, they are often found to become more visible in the Autumn. During the colder, winter months, dreys offer warmth and shelter; cleverly constructed with twigs for a sturdy shape on the outside, whilst the inside is lined with soft materials such as moss and fir. Ysolda was moved to consider the way nature provides its own kind of cosiness, when catching sight of red squirrels moving their kit between dreys whilst rambling in the Highlands. These slippers represent the transition to the colder seasons, less harsh for the cosiness that can come with it.

Needles and notions
US 8 / 5mm needles:
either two 24” / 60cm or longer circulars for 2 circulars method or one 40” / 100cm or longer needle for magic loop. The gauge on the sole is very tight, I recommend using metal needles.
US 10 / 6mm dpns or preferred needles for working small circumferences in the rnd
