Halimede is worked from the top down, beginning with a garter tab cast on. Stitches are increased at the ends of every row for a shallow easy-to-wear shape. The usual centre spine of a triangular shawl is replaced with a feather and fan panel, increasing several stitches every few rows. This design detail also rounds the shape of the shawl. The vertical panel of feather and fan combines with horizontal bands of the same stitch pattern. A wider border of the pattern completes the shawl. This variant of feather and fan combines garter and stockinette columns for a slightly different look than usual that highlights the shifting arrangement of the stitches.
